Married (I met Natasha at BYU... She's from Выборг), 2 children. I've been back twice, once to pick up Grandparents serving in Ekat. and most recently to visit friends and family in 2003. Our second child wab born in August, 2004. Julia (our first) is handling it fairly well. We are teaching our kids both English & Russian with the help of the Мосфилм DVDs that we picked up during our last trip. There are some great мултики that you can find out there. Make sure you have a DVD player that can play PAL DVDs and can change regions if you decide to go this route. I was able to figure out which DVD players were compatible with movies from other regions (region free) by reading some forums on the internet. A place called nerd-out dot com seems to be one of the better forums for this purpose. There are also ways of making your computer DVD player show foriegn films. Also there are some on-line Russian cartoons by the name of smeshariki (dot ru) that are pretty fun and can help you keep up your Russian. Good luck! |
