Well, my life has changed recently in a very wonderful way. I was married to my beautiful and talented wife, Valerie, on December 11, 2004 in the Washington, D.C. temple and we just gave birth to our first child about three weeks ago...Nikolai Alexander Brown! Although my wife is Colombian (no I have not also picked up Spanish), she approved of the name because she had heard it before and it is easy on the Latin tongue (i.e. her relatives in Bogota). Nikolai is truly a joy and a pill at the same time. Valerie and I recently moved to Ohio in the middle of my pediatric residency program because my program on the Mississippi gulf coast was "washed away." Fortunately our house was spared and the military moved us. It was not without strains as Valerie was about 34 weeks pregnant, but the Lord truly blessed us in ways that to us seem miraculous. We are happy where we are at and are excited to have started a family. Please keep us informed of your adventures and God bless all of you! |
