Comments:
My wife and I have six children, and are living in Orem, Utah. I am on the Mechanical Engineering faculty at BYU, but currently have an administrative assignment as Academic Vice President. My oldest son served in the former Marseille mission, had a wonderful experience, returning in 2001. It was our privilege to pick him up, renewing acquaintance with several members I knew as a missionary. He and his wife have four children. They are in their final year of a medical residency at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. Our second child, a son, served in the Argentina Salta Mission, where his experience was, as one might expect, quite different from the work in France. He is now at BYU pursuing his Master's degree in Athletic Training. He and his wife are parents of a little boy. Our third, a daughter, finished at BYU in Special Education, taught for a year, and is now a stay-at-home mom with two children and a third due in November, 2012. Her husband is in the first year of an MBA program at UC Irvine. Our fourth child, a son, served in the France Toulouse Mission, returning in January, 2009. He is back at BYU probably majoring in Economics, and just married. That makes two sons who were called to southern France, most likely to rectify my mistakes as a French missionary of three decades ago. Our fifth child, a daughter, is a junior at BYU studying Statistics. We still have a son (age 16) at home to keep us young.

My mission laid the foundation for what has followed in my family and in my subsequent church service. Though rather difficult, I wouldn't trade it for all the world.
