| Comments: My first night in a new area, my junior companion took me tracting in the area where he and my predecessor had been working. We knocked on a couple of doors, and then heard what I thought was a woman saying, in English, "It's open!" I figured that I had been set up, brought to some member's house, sort of a new-to-the-area ritual. I was trying not to let on that I had figured it out, so I knocked again. This time, the lady of the house yelled, much more clearly, "JE SUIS AU BAIN!" So I guess it's just as well that we didn't walk right in. If you want a better story, ask Jeff Easton how his mission to Zaire was. It's his favorite story. I have been married (Lara) since 1990, and we have three kids: Richard (1993), Thomas (1996), and Rebecca (2000). | |
