| Comments: My link to Tahiti is through my wife's grandfather, Uel Hunting (a.k.a. Uela). Uela served his mission in Tahiti back in 1937-1940 and was a companion to Rudeen Allred (Rutina). My wife and I are planning a trip to Papeete in February 2011. I know it will not be the same as when grandpa was there, but I am looking forward to this "Family History Quest" all the same. I hope to get out to Fakarava, Takaroa, and Raiatea. I hope to meet some nice Tahitian people, maybe even some descendants of Teumere, Fifi,Aurora, or Aroarii as written about in hes journal. However, if not, I know it will be a wonderful visit all the same.. | |
