Comments:
Here are pictures of Pres Kenneth R. Stevens (Setephano), Tahiti Mission,
1938, from the album of O. Rudeen Allred (Rutena).
On the back of the first one it says:

Kind remembrances and wishes
from
Kenneth R. Stevens
Iona Brimhall Stevens

PAPEETE - TAHITI

Later, the Stevens family had another baby born in Papeete, called "aiu" on
one of Dad's pictures. Maybe that just means "baby".

The second picture is cropped from the first.

The third, showing Pres Stevens at work, says:

Pres. Stevens, Elders Mortenson and Leatham. Dec. 31, "38". Headquarters.
A front porch scene featuring Pres, Levi & Eledona.

Finally, there is a picture of Acting Pres Palmer and Elder Winkle. It
says:

Dena (Elder Palmer - Acting Pres.)
Beni (Elder Winkle - Miss. Sec.)

You might be interested in looking at my father's journal, which begins at
www.bartnet.net/~allred/Tahiti.html
Mind you, it's a work in progress, so I will gradually improve and complete
it.
I have many other pictures from the 1938-1940 era. If I come across any
inspirational or historical stories of general interest in Dad's letters and
journal, perhaps I can write them and send them to you.

I hope these pictures will be useful for your Tahitian Mission website, or
at least interesting to you.

Thanks,
Gregory Allred
