When I met my husband to be he was LA. His mother was a member but his father isn't. Truly, if I hadn't served a mission and been blessed to work with LA's I don't know if I would have quite known how to handle the situation I was faced with. I loved him so much, but I knew that I would only get married in the temple. Shortly after we started dating, he started coming back to church. I was worried that he was only doing it for me. Then, I was at his house one day and noticed that his scriptures were laying open. I almost started to cry. He hadn't said he was reading again and I hadn't pushed the subject. I knew that he was doing it for him and not me. Since that first Sunday he came to church with me he only missed 2 in over 6 months. I was blessed to see him change and to see me change as well. I had people warn me that I shouldn't get too excited, that he could slip back into LA again. I know that any of us could slip into LA. Matthew has been consistant with all that our Branch President had asked him to do. In Aug. of 2007 he was ordained an Elder and the next week received his endowments in the Boise Temple. Up to that point I couldn't remember a happier time. I had never seen him happier. We were later married and sealed in the Logan UT Temple. So, I guess my message is, don't give up on those that everyone else says won't make it. You believe in them and believe that God is behind you and the one you're trying to help. He wants them to come back just as much as you do. |

LDS QUOTE: |
"You are a great army of returned missionaries. Go forward with new zeal and determination, and through your example shine the light of the gospel in this troubled world. This is the Lord’s work in which we are engaged. God lives. Jesus is the Christ. We belong to His Church. This is my witness to you in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."
