I am looking for two missionaries who served in the Washington DC mission during 1974. They would have been assigned to Alexandria Virginia in the spring of 1974, and at least one of them (if not both) were from Sandy Utah. If anyone can help me, it would be a blessing. Thank you

A former ward mission leader has been looking for a David Nye from Colorado, do any of you remember him from our mission or how to find him?

I am trying to track down a missionary companion. Joshua Johnson served from 2000-2002 under Presidents Farnes and Madsen. The mission directory I have has his address in Richfield, UT, but I've been unsuccessful in reaching him.
Does anyone have any leads? If so, please email them to me - asfelker@gmail.com

My wife and I attended the funeral in Federal Way. Since learning of President's passing I have taken time to reflect on my mission and the many things President Graff taught me. Much of who I am today can be attributed to his love of the Gospel and the Plan of Salvation.
It was good to see Sister Graff again, albeit under less than desirable circumstances. We chatted for a minute and I told her how I much appreciated her husband. I also saw President and Sister Farnes, who drove up from Salt Lake. Elder Bishop and Elder Lee were there, but I didn't get a chance to talk to them.
I'll always remember President Graff.

As many of you have heard, President Graff passed away on Saturday after suffering a heart attack. His funeral will be held in Federal Way, WA on Saturday at 11am at the Federal Way Stake Center. Thank you to the many of you who have helped in passing the word along to those who served with the President. Please continue to pass this information along so that we can try to reach as many of those that served with and knew President Graff as possible. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. We love you President Graff, hope to see you on the other side.

My son Adrian is in the MTC and looking forward to heading to DC on the 16th. He's wondering where the majority of French speaking members and investigators are from. I was thinking mostly from Africa.

Brothers and Sisters:
The December 2008 issue of the Armed Forces Retirement Home's official newspaper, the"COMMUNICATOR", has a feature article, accompanied by historic photographs, about a recent LDS convert, ALBERT STEGALL.
During the Second World War, Brother Stegall was a sailor on a submarine in the United States Navy, and while the submarine was submerged at sea, Brother Stegall assisted in performing an emergency appendectomy on a fellow crewman.
You can read the newspaper article, which is in PDF format, at this URL:

Scroll down to Page Six to read about Brother Albert Stegall.
If you are in this local area, you might even wish to visit him at the Armed Forces Retirement Home.
The Armed Forces Retirement Home is located in the Washington, D.C. Third Ward.
Thank you.

Brothers and Sisters:
Here is a video posted at the YOU TUBE web site that I made of Christopher Kovalenko performing the famous Abbott and Costello skit, "WHO'S ON FIRST?"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_HWrRQbICE
The video is also posted on my blog, "OUR ETERNAL STRUGGLE", which is at:
http://writesong.blogspot.com
At the time, Christopher Kovalenko, who is the grandson of an old friend, was visiting me in my room at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Washington, D.C.
As a precaution, he removed his missionary name tag and requested he not be identified as "Elder Kovalenko", or given any association with The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints.
I have complied with his request, but personally, I see no harm, and indeed, nothing but good, in referring to our Church at all times and in all places.
Thank you.

Our son just got called to this mission and enters the MTC on Jan 7/09. He's actually been called to speak FRENCH - I guess there must be a number of members and investigators from French speaking countries in Africa or the Caribbean. Our son is at BYU until the end of December. Very exciting times.

Woah! I just saw some messages from 2006 about Willie Williams in the Suitland ward. I'm pretty sure I reactivated him when I was there. If I'm thinking of the right guy, I had an amazing talk with him one night - it was one of the most memorable experiences of my mission. He came back to church the next week, and I remember the bishop being floored to see him. He said he thought he'd never darken a church door again. And now he's ward mission leader?? Wow!
I hope I'm thinking of the same man...
