It is good to see the names of men I was fortunate to meet and work with on my mission: Elder Ostler, Elder M.T. Baer, Elder Stackhouse, Elder Norman. In 1995 I caught up with my favorite companion in Los Angeles: Elder Samuel Cuessy Jr. I enjoyed getting re-aquainted with "Sami". I felt all the more blessed because he died very suddenly in Jan of 1996. I miss my other great companions: Elder Bruce Haywood and Elder Kevin Carr. I haven't seen them since my mission ended (in 1980). I was sad to learn that President McKoy passed away in 1988. It's good to see that President Thorpe still has a sense of humor ("I served in the mission office only"). My greatest hope and desire is that all the men and women that played such a huge part of my life as I worked in the mission field of WA-Spokane; missionaries, members, and non-members alike; that all these good folk continue to study the Book of Mormon and hold fast to the iron rod (Alma 17:2). |
