Comments: I am working with Brother David Tuttle of Lehi, Utah to establish a Missionary Memorial park, monument and memorial wall, dedicated to all missionaries who have either lost their lives or were seriously injured during their time of service.
According to my records, there have been five missionaries die in the Zimbabwe Harare Mission.
Elder George T. Brooks from Salt Lake City, Utah
Elcer Maxwell Nyabadza
Elder Farai George Murahwa
Ta'Avili Joseph Samuel Pollard from Port Hueneme, California
Rogerio Belchoir from Marromeu, Mozambique.
My uncle was such a missionary - the ship he sailed on to South America in 1929 sank off the coast of the state of Virginia. His body was never found but his companion lived to tell the story. The service of these missionaries is sacred and inspiring. Their stories are comforting, and we would like very much to have them told.
Thank you for any help you can offer.
