I've been in touch with Luc and Gilles Royer from Jouy-aux-Arches, near Metz. They are looking for Robert Landreth who taught them before I did. Any information on his whereabouts?

Salut,
My brother and I are planning on doing some waterfowl and upland bird hunting in Southern Alberta this Winter - I'm wondering if anyone in the mission network (Dutch or French) has any experience in this domain and would consider sharing some pointers and maybe going out for a few hunts with us.

Hi everyone, I am taking a trip from Paris up to Copenhagen in May, and I'm wondering what you all would recommend I see. I served on the French side of the mission, so am not familiar with which Netherlands/Flanders cities are worth seeing, so if any of you could e-mail me suggestions, I'd appreciate it. My e-mail is stinvin@gmail.com Thanks!

I just wanted to let all the Dutch speakers know that the time may be changing for Dutch TRC at the MTC starting Fall Semester. We are hoping that we can get enough support that the TRC will allow us to change the TRC time to SATURDAY MORNING.
As teachers we are trying to get some type of commitement from as many people as possible so that the time can be changed. You don't need to commit at this point to being able to come, but we need to find as many people as we can that would be interested in possibly volunteering at the TRC during that time. We hope that by changing the TRC to saturdays, we can get more volunteers to come and help and also get more recently returned missionaries to attend. We could use your help, and it's a great opportunity to check up on your dutch.
If you speak dutch, are in the provo area, and think you might be able to help out sometime on a saturday morning, please reply to this message as soon as possible so that we can create a list of names for the TRC. If you have any questions you can email me.
PLEASE INFORM ANYONE ELSE THAT YOU MAY KNOW WHO IS IN PROVO AND WOULD BE INTERESTED. THANKS!

I was wondering if anyone could share an e-copy (scanned) or a hard copy of Pres. Barton's Obituary. I found this tribute to him from 1997. I would appreciate anything of this nature for my personal book of remembrance. Plus, he was such a modest man, I am interested in the great contributions he made in education, community, family, and the Gospel...What a Giant of a Man, who worked hard until the day he died! Thanks, Elder Doug Evans

Tribute to Dr. Donald K. Barton
By Laura Ashton
The International Center wishes to express appreciation and pay tribute to Dr. Donald K. Barton, Professor in the Department of Languages and Literature. Dr. Barton died peacefully at his home on August 24, shortly after returning from Europe, having spent the summer serving as Program Director for the University of Utah study abroad program in Switzerland.
Dr. Barton was committed to students and believed wholeheartedly that a balanced education should include exposure to cultures, languages and people. Some 30 years ago, Dr. Barton organized and instigated the concept of "study abroad" at the U. He coordinated trips to Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Italy and Mexico along with colleagues in the Department of Languages and Literature. Dr. Barton devoted much of his life to the development of these programs - spending every summer (for the last 30 years) overseas with student groups. This summer, with 55 students in tow, Dr. Barton remarked "I feel that I have something to contribute to these students lives and as long as I can continue to do that I will." With a strenuous schedule and very full travel itinerary (5 countries in 4 weeks), it is clear that Dr. Barton had no self-serving interests in leading the programs. It is also clear that he had a lot to gain - the rewards of seeing his students learn, experience and grow through exposure to the world and its people.
On behalf of the thousands of students who have been influenced by him, the International Center extends sincere gratitude to Dr. Donald K. Barton for his commitment to International Education at the University of Utah.

For those of you who know or remember Sister Fairon, her granddaughter, Elisa (daughter of Renaud) died tragically in an accident last week. I am sure that if anyone who would like to call her to give her your condolences, she would be very appreciative.
Send me an email if you would like her telephone number.
Thanks,

Does anyone know anything about a member who used to live in Dunkerque? His name is Genno, I can't remember his last name, and at one time he was the branch mission leader for the Calais Branch, before it became a ward. If this rings a bell with anyone, and you know something, please let me know, I was curious what he is up to now. Thanks!

there are other webcams all over the city, but I've noticed a number of them are not working.

Thanks for the replies that I've received. Brother Denis sent me this link to his own website which has all the meeting schedules, and I now see that there's a link to his website on this site under "links" -- his website is Le Berger Goel. If you look about halfway down the left bar you'll see a link for "chapelles - adresses." I thought I'd point this out for anyone needing this information in future.
Thanks again! -Zina Wheeler

I'll be visiting Belgium with my family next month. We want to attend church in Namur, Liege, and possibly Charleroi (some of the areas where I served as a missionary 10+ years ago.) At the Church website I was able to find the addresses for the church buildings in these cities, but no meeting times are listed. Any recently returned missionaries or others in the know, please help us out so we can know what time to show up for church. Thanks!

I have lost contact with Elder Bob Banta. I served with him in Cambrai, France during the spring of 1975 when we lived in part of a Château with Mme Henriette and her family as our landlady. I know he is originally from Utah as I visited him there before his marriage. Anyone knowing of his whereabouts would you please put us both back in touch. I would appreciate this. Thanks.
