Sister Leslie Bagley sent me an email this morning to let me know that Elder Lynn Reeder (former couple missionary at the Temple Visitor's Center) passed away May 14, at 1:00 a.m. As some of you may know, he had been diagnosed with a brain tumor last fall. The information that we have so far is that the funeral will be this Saturday (May 17th) at 11:00 at the old Perry church in Perry, Utah. We will post more information when it is available. Elder Reeder was a kind and gentle person and will be sorely missed. Our hearts and prayers go out to Sister Reeder at this time that she will feel the comfort of our Heavenly Father.

I got a chance to talk to Scotts dad last night. He is doing great! He told me that the granade was only about 10 feet away when it went off. Elder Lee always was full of the spirit and it is the spirit that protected him. He had shrapnel removed from his face abouve his eye, neck, and arm. He is one lucky guy! He asked to be able to stay and go back to be with his unit but it sounds like they are more likely to send him home. I am hoping that is what they decide. I will try to keep you all updated on the situation. Thank you for your emails and your words of concern. His dad will be sending me some of his letters if you would like a copy let me know.

Sister Yvonne Hilton, wife of George Hilton, Laie Hawaii Visitors' Center Director from February 1999-2001, asked that we relay the news that her husband passed away last Friday, March 14, from Lou Gehrig's disease. Many of you who know the Hiltons were aware that the disease was diagnosed shortly after the Hiltons returned from their service in Hawaii.
Through the progression of the disease both George and Yvonne maintained their positive faith-promoting outlook on life and demonstrated their faith in the Lord's plan and confidence in the future. They were blessed with the support of several family members who live nearby their Lafayette, California home. George had been a temple worker for many years before his call to Laie, and continued that service in the Oakland California Temple with Yvonne after returning from Laie, continuing as long as he could even after loosing his ability to speak as the disease progressed.
George had previously served as mission president with Yvonne in Tahiti, and subsequently together served several service and humanitarian-medical missions for the Church throughout the world. He was an internationally known ophthalmologist surgeon who pioneered important surgical techniquics and trained others both through his teaching responsibilities at the University of California and on their numerous service missions.
The funeral service will be Saturday, March 22, at 11 AM in the Moraga (CA) chapel located at 3776 Via Granada in Lafayette, CA 94549. There will be a viewing Friday beginning at 11 AM and again on Saturday from 10 to 10:50 AM before the service at the chapel. Yvonne suggested that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the ALS Association, Bay Area Chapter, 140 Geary St., 4th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94108. Included with donations should be a statement that the donation is for research in memory of George Hilton. The ALS Association supports Lou Gehrig disease research and awareness.
The Hilton's mailing address, should you wish to communicate with Yvonne, is 24 Warwick Court, Lafayette, CA 94549-5618.
We are sure that all of us who had the privilege of serving with the Hiltons extend our love and sympathy to Yvonne and her family.
Sincerely and Aloha,
Bob & Lawrin Standing
Former Laie Visitor Center Missionaries
September 2000-March 2002

If anyone knows the Costa family who were in the Waipahu 2nd ward (for sure in 1994) I would love to hear how they are doing. Especially their grandaughters Ashley Noelani Kaapa Costa and Brandi Kiilani Margaret Costa. I had the opportunity to teach and baptize them when they were 9 & 10 yrs. old. Very awesome family. I would love it someone could get me in contact with the family.
Just email me @ kdwill97@lds.net

I have a friend who started selling 3D pictures of the Hawaiian Temple.
When I saw the picture for the first time it brought back so many memories of
Hawaii. I fell in love and purchased a copy. I thought about all of you who had served in Hawaii and I wanted to share what I have found. Check out the website at www.epiaa.com and see for yourself what a beautiful work of art JR (the artist) has done.
If you purchase the picture from the website, BYU-H bookstore, or even (BYU Provo/Idaho and Deseret Book, which will be in the near future) then, you will be paying $129. But my friend is selling them for only $99 plus shipping and handling.
If you are interested call Susilo at 714-342-2551 or email him at susilo007@yahoo.com and you can get a great price on a beautiful 3D Hawaii Temple picture.

In response to Jake: I haven't seen the said Reese or heard from him, but I stand witness that those guys did whoop some trash at that b-ball game. :)
Other business: Any Eye Single Boyz checkin' out this thing? I hope to see ya at the reunion!
Thanks to all of you who have kept in contact with me...its so fun to hear about how you're all doing. Here's the most recent "vine" I've got. Word has it Hank's just might be having a smaller version of him running around. :) Branch has kept in touch and is doing great, going to college at USU but will be off for the summer. Payne still loves his water skiing, and Taylor has a cool job installing sirens/TV's etc. in police vehicles. He was driving around town pulling people over with his self-installed siren. :) Love that kid... Anyway, my wife and I are doing great and are living back in Layton Utah. We're building a home in Clearfield, and are happy to be here for good. I'd like to see how you're all doing...keep in touch!

Some time by the end of this year, I will be in Hawaii for BYU. I dont know when yet. If you want to contact me (wedding announcements, etc) my address posted in my bio is still good. Also, I will still have my E-mail available through this website. Wish me luck. If any of you who know me are also there or will be let me know so I can look you up!

If this reaches Pres. H. Ross Workman, this is our message: We would be willing to plan and coordinate a missionary reunion for your missionaries close to the time of the October Conference, if this would be helpful to you. We are in Plano, Texas, but could arrange it through family and friends in the Salt Lake area. Will you be back in Salt Lake for the October conference? You will remember us as the couple serving in Hana, Maui, from 1998 to 2000. Love, Elder and Sister Richmond

Hey all! After getting married and spending a year and a half near my home (Rexburg), I am going back to Hawaii to go to school!
Trying to get everything together has been a real challenge. If there is anyone out there who is married and going to school at BYU-H, I'd appreciate any comments and/or advice!
