I recently learned of President Buehner's passing this last November. There is an obituary on legacy.com through the Salt Lake Tribune. He was living in St. George Utah at the time. He was a great man and servant of God and will be missed.

I was baptized November 29, 1986 in Boise Idaho when I was 18. I need information on the Elder that baptized me. His name is Casey Stolzing. I am not sure if the spelling is right. I would appreciate any help or information about him.

I was taught the Gospel by a colleague at work and two Sister Missionaries. I was baptized in June of 1993. The Sisters were: Sister Smith and Sister Weisner. I was in the Air Force stationed at Mt Home AFB, and some time later I was stationed overseas. I was sealed in the Temple and my wife and I have a 9 year old son! Life is great! Recently my wife found the Missionary who baptised her in Spain and we actually had dinner with his family the other day. It made me think how great it would be to find the Sisters who baptized me and introduce them to my family. If anyone knows Sister Smith and Sister Weisner please let them know I'd love to have an email from them. Thanks.

For some of us it wasn't the best two years. May I recommend you let go of the past. Don't let the hurt of casting your pearls affect the rest of your life. Be men and raise your voice to God in faith in understanding.

This may seem odd but I am trying to find the name (and hopefully the contact information) for a former missionary that served in the Idaho Boise mission during 2008-2010. I can't remember his name but I do remember he is Hispanic and from San Antonio, Texas. If anyone has any information about this Elder it would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Does anyone happen to still have the "urgency sheet"? It was basically a select few quotes from past prophets about how missionary work was/is urgent... one of the quotes was from Joseph Smith stating that if the spirit prompted, the person should be baptized even if you need to break the ice on the river to do it. Another one spoke about how we need to baptize the person/investigator even if we have reason to believe they are lying about their worthiness... Another one talked about how we teach investigators the same as our 8 year old children...
I have just been called as the ward mission leader, and i could really use this resource now. Any help would be much appreciated. Whether you have this paper or know the quotes and authors off hand. I want to say it was put together by either Elder King or Elder Ferrari. Thanks!

Hello,
My husband is trying to find the elders that taught & baptized him in January 1997. He would like to send them a card of thanks & just catch up in general. :)
Elders Wendell Wilson and Jason Gilbert taught my hubby, Mike Pugh, from November 1996 until his baptism in January 1997. I've looked on this website, the different Facebook mission pages, tried Google, Whitepages and Anywho and haven't had any luck... if you know them or how to get ahold of them, please let us know! You can email me at taffi.abp @ gmail.com.
Thanks! Taffi

Our Fall 2010 Mission Reunion will be held on the Friday before General Conference--that is on Friday, October 1. As usual, it will be at our home (2951 Apache Lane, Provo, Utah, 84604) Call 801-377-0262 if you have any questions. Only one missionary showed up at our last reunion (April 2009), so let us know if you plan to attend so we will have enough food. But come even if you forget to let us know. Bring your kids if you have been so blessed. Sister Taylor will have a light dinner with her usual banana splits with her home made hot fudge for desert. Hope to see as many as possible.
|
|
No reunion will be held this year in conjunction with the April 2010 Conference. We are living in New Zealand where I am a visiting professor at the University of Otago. We will not get back to Utah until April 13. We are sorry we will miss you. Please start planning for the October 2010 Conference Reunion on the Friday before conference begins. We would love to hear from any of you to see how you are doing.
|
|
The reunion this year will be a bit shorter than usual since Sister Taylor will be recuperating from some major surgery. Nevertheless, please come to our home at 2951 Apache Lane in Provo between 7 and 9 p.m. on the Friday before October General Conference (October 2) and John and I will meet, greet, and serve an ice cream smorgesbord. I know you will all miss Sister Taylor's wonderful dinner, but she will be pretty much confined to bed. Call me at 801-377-0262 if you have any questions. We would love to see any who are in our part of the world.

I've been searching for some Companions who I served with, namely: Vargas, Harris, Garcia and Bucheit. If someone knows where they are, let me know and I'll greatly appreciate it.

Hello All,
I served in the Idaho Boise Mission for 5 weeks, from November 1999 to January 2000, while I was waiting for my visa to go to Argentina. For those who were there during that time, I was one of the elders in the van rollover that occurred the last week of December 1999.
I am currently applying to take the Arizona Bar Exam to allow me to practice law in Arizona and I am required to have three references from every place I have lived during the past 10 years. As you can imagine, it has been very difficult for me to find three people I knew while I was in Boise for such a short time. If any of you remember me (even vaguely) I would appreciate hearing from you. I just need someone who is willing to verify that they knew me in Boise and check a box indicating that they recommend me for the bar. Please let me know if you do remember me and would be willing to help me out. Thank you for your time!

I had difficuly finding how to get my password reset. I almost gave up.
Suggestion. My other sites all have the system where there is a link for Forgotten My Password on every place you can sign in, throughout the websites, and clicking on that link brings up the page where you type in your registered email address, and a reset your password button. This same page appears when you type in a wrong password.
It would be nice if you could do that, but, if not, a link saying Forgotten Password? next to each sign in area, where clicking the link takes us to that page I stumbled upon, telling me how to reset the password, with links, on that page to pages being talked about.
However I cannot send request as the site Feedback and comments section is broken, keeps saying Security code is incorrect. So I have to send this to this board, and as I understand it preread, and I hope they fix the parts of site not working, saying security code is incorrect.
All the Best :-)

Was that Chip Roberts I saw on 'Millionaire tonight? He was one of the friends and family to the "Scoutmaster" contestent?

This is just a last minute reminder to any who served with us to encourage you to attend our reunion tomorrow (Friday, April 4 at 6 p.m.) at our home in Provo. If you cannot come and would like a message read to those who are there, please send me an e-mail (stan_taylor@byu.edu) and I will read it to those who attend.

I appreciate the work on the site. I had been trying to update my profile for two years and could not get my password reset. It took 3 minutes tonight.
Thanks,
Zack

This site is much better than the old one. Thanks for providing the service and doing your best to improve the features for our needs. I've been able to get in touch with so many people because of this site that I probably wouldn't have found for years!
Thanks!

Hi, I am hoping to find the original missionaries that God sent to me in my darkest hours. I lived in Jerome, Idaho and I know one of my missionaries was from Tennesse. I am being baptized in 2 weeks and I would love to let them know. At the time I was dating a Marine who was LDS and was stationed in Japan. I am now married to that Marine. Any help to find them would be fabulous! Please email me at t_mills_1981@hotmail.com FYI this was Sept. - Nov of 2001

Hello Everyone,
Once again I am writing to let you know about the upcoming mission
reunion. The Idaho Boise Mission reunion is going to be held Oct. 6, 2006
at 7:00 pm. It is going to be in a different location than the place
it has been the last couple of times. It will be held on the third
floor of the BYU foreign language housing complex in the commons area.
The address for this is 1950 N. Temple View Drive. If you go north on 900
east, you turn right on Temple View Dr., it is the first driveway/
parking lot on your right. (You can't miss it!). It is across from the
entrance of the MTC. If you are having difficulties finding it feel free
to call me at 801-885-2798 or Joshua Molina, who is in charge of it, at
801-836-4958.
It is going to be a potluck dinner so everyone is encouraged to bring
a little something they can share with the group. A slide show is
being prepared to show the group and President and Sister Holt will share
some thoughts with us.
Please forward this information to anyone who served under President
Holt. We would love to have great attendance at this since it will be
the last reunion for a little while. Please dress in church attire.
Thanks for your help and hopefully we will see you there.

Hi Colleen,
I'll attempt to address each of your concerns with my own comments below
yours.
You wrote:

When someone registers, they have the ability to input the years they
served, select a Mission President they served under and whether they are an
Elder or Sister. Doing so then gives other rm's the ability to search for
you and receive notifications from the site whenever a profile is updated.
SO, because the previous site was altogether NOT organized with linking in
this fashion, it means it's going to take a little time while people update
their profile on the new site before some of the capabilities you mentioned
will work.
You can now search by mission president. Simply locate the president you
served under and click on the link for Associated Alumni. ONLY those alumni
who have selected the Mission President will be shown under this link.
Again, once alumni update their profiles and select a mission president,
then this search feature will work. You can also search by years served.
Simply go to the Alumni section and enter the Years Served section and click
on Search to bring up those alumni who have updated their profiles to
include when they served.
As for searching by areas served, this is too complicated due to the MANY
variations in spelling the rm's could possibly enter, upper, lower case,
etc. It's currently not feasible to setup a search for areas served.
> Also, I have no way of adding my companions that aren't on the
predetermined
> list. Or if I can add them, I can't figure it out.
You do have a way to list them. Add them to your comments section when you
update your profile. NOT EVERYONE who served has registered on the site as
an alumni member. ONLY those who register will be displayed in the profile
registration, AND ONLY if you select a mission president that you served
under.
> It would be helpful for a "get to know how to use this site" page or
"click
> here to help you navigate" button. Its information overload as it stands;
> not user friendly.
The links are all pretty self-explanatory. There has been countless
thousands of hours spent on the development of the site management tool in
use by some 330 other alumni sites. It works well, provides the
webmaster/site maintainer with easy administration and privacy/protection
for users.
A little patience and time will resolve most of these issues.
Thanks,

LDS QUOTE: |
"The Lord has given no greater charge to His people than sharing the gospel with our Heavenly Fathers children. Missionaries take people out of the darkness of the world and lead them to the safety and light of the gospel of Jesus Christ. To find and teach and baptize and confirm someone who has never paid much attention to God or to Christ and His great atoning sacrifice is one of the greatest services a priesthood holder can provide."
