PresidentsPresident Paul M. Norton and Sister Norton came to the Illinois Chicago North
Mission from Logan Utah. He was one of the vice presidents at the University at
the time of his call. President Norton is originally from Preston Idaho. Prior
to going to Logan, the Nortons lived in Madison Wisconsin. He was the stake
president there for many years and also served as a bishop. When he was serving
as the stake president, what is now the Rockford Stake in our Mission was
included in his stake. In fact, he was the stake president who recommended that
the Rockford Stake be formed by dividing the Madison Stake. When he was serving
as a bishop, Elder Bruce Bingham was serving as the Elders Quorum President. He
also served on several regional committees with other people who live in our
Mission area. So, he is very familiar with many of the people and much of the
area of our Mission. President and Sister Norton are wonderful people. They will
be a great blessing to our Mission.
