Comments:
Sis Jenkins never married. She passed away Sept. 2004. Buried in Lewisville, ID. Dear Wayne:
Just a quick note to let you know that I served in two areas with Sister Jenkins first in Hiroshima Branch in 1967 and then in the Japan Kobe Mission Home in 1968. Two of her companions whom I recall, in case you do not have them, are Miller Shimai in Hiroshima and Sharon Nakanishi Nagata in the Mission Home with President and Sister Okazaki.

As I remember, Jenkins Shimai had a remarkable and uncomplicated faith in the Savior, was a faithful and dedicated servant of the Lord, and was a strong contributor to the work of the mission! She struggled with the language at first because of limited opportunities to learn and use it.
However, I do not remember her expressing any discouragement, even once, though it must have been difficult at times. She always was willing to tackle tough projects with a smile and brought a sweet and helpful spirit with her every day to the office. Remembering her sacrifices and selfless service to the great saints of Japan has brought back many wonderful memories for me this morning after reading your note
of her passing.

My records are from February 1967 to August 1968. So I don't know if this is complete or not. Connie was released in August 1968. Hope this helps a bit.

"Obedience is the price, faith is the power, love is the motive, the Spirit is the key, and Christ is the reason." The motto of the Japan Fukuoka Mission can be applied not only to missionary work, but to everyday life. -BYU President Bateman
