Your Occupation: Retired. Dean Emeritus BYU College of Nursing
Comments:
Before my mission I had graduated in Nursing from BYU and was working in Hawaii when I received my mission call - After my mission - I returned to nursing and obtained my Master's and Ph.D. degrees. I first taught nursing at the U of U for seven years and then was in nursing education and administration at the BYU for 24 years. The last 12 years at BYU - - I was - five years as the Assistant Dean over the Graduate Program and then seven years as the Dean of Nursing for the College. My Church callings have been numerous - ranging from starting a Primary in a rural village in Hawaii to being a Relief Society President in Utah. Since retiring, I have written my life story and have taken up the hobbies of oil painting, along with the joy of doing Icelandic family history! Retirement is a mixed blessing - joy and happiness.

"Obedience is the price, faith is the power, love is the motive, the Spirit is the key, and Christ is the reason." The motto of the Japan Fukuoka Mission can be applied not only to missionary work, but to everyday life. -BYU President Bateman
