My wife Kathie and I have six children from 16 to 25. I have been a professor at Utah State University in marriage and family relations since 1982.
Our oldest son served in Sweden and we went to pick him up in June 2003 and visited Norway for a few days as well as seeing some of Sweden. It was great to be reminded of places and people and experiences on my mission. I even started to remember my norwegian a little bit. Our next son is currently serving in the Uruguay Montevideo West mission. Another son will go next summer.
I am currently serving as a bishop in our home ward, having served a few years ago in a Utah State University student ward as a bishop. My wife has served in many capacities as well, and we are fortunate that our children are faithful and trying to live the gospel. I have grown from serving in many callings, but perhaps none as much as my two years in Norway. I was fortunate to serve with great companions and to learn much from both President Berling and President Langeland. I think of all those experiences often and I am continually grateful I had the privilege of serving a mission in Norway for the Lord. |
