The DNM Alumni site and
Mission.net needs your help!
As you may be aware, our Mission web site as
well as its parent database and host, Mission.net has been a wonderful service
to all of us who have taken advantage of it. All time for creation and
maintenance have been on a completely volunteer basis. To this date, the
hosting and bandwidth needs have been met by a generous Salt Lake
based company. This has allowed us to continue ad-free with very little operating
expense.
Currently the LDS Mission Network is in need of funds to pay for Bandwidth for the Mission.net host. As we continue to grow, there will be a need to upgrade hardware to help support the increased usage.
As many of you know, LDS Mission Network is supported by a team of volunteers. Our goal has been and will be to provide a hosting service with access to tools and resources that make maintaining a mission page easy and worthwhile. We've provided this service for free and would like to continue to do so.
We have been very fortunate to have internet access previously provided by Deseret Book however, at this point it has come time for LDS Mission Network to find hosting elsewhere. The LDS Mission Network may need to pay for Bandwidth, there are also hardware maintenance and internet registration costs that occur on periodic basis. These as well as other costs drive the need for further donations to survive. Thanks again for your support!
As the Webmaster for the DNM, I am hesitant, but feel the need to ask for help
and donations from all of you who have enjoyed and appreciate the value our
mission alumni site has given. The programming team has set up a PayPal link for donations on the mission.net home page. You

On this page you will have to scroll down a bit to see the information. If we
receive the money required to move and maintain the server with our own host
connection, mission.net and over 335 worldwide mission websites will stay live
and active.
Mission.net is looking for $3600 for upgrading equipment and updating our bandwidth and server access
(from all missions combined). On an ongoing basis, each mission will cost approximately $3.50-$10.00
(depending on the number of actively maintained mission sites) per month to
maintain. At this point, every dollar counts. We currently have raised $2217, as of 17 December 2007
