I have three daughters; two married, and the youngest is 16. Two grandsons and a granddaughter.
Bolivar, Missouri has been home since 1981.
I have seen the church grow here from a branch 25 miles away meeting in a small former cattle feed store to a new ward and building just up the road from where we live. Most of the time my daughters have been the only members at their school, and with only one exception, have been the sole member of the church in their class.
There isn't much occasion to speak Norwegian in Missouri but it did lead to an interesting discussion with a collegue in the boat business- he was mentioning the Norwegians living in Minnesota, I told him I spoke the language. He was surprised, and after I told him of my mission he replied he was raised in an LDS foster home and spoke quite highly of the church and the family who raised him,
I enjoy living in rural Missouri with all the wild life- the back yard is full of deer, turkey, raccoons, and other animals that challenge our ability to have a garden.
When not at church I like to hike, bike, read, and putter around the property. |
