Comments: Most will not remember me, but I did in fact serve in the Lima East Mission for a glorious 4 months.
While other missionaries got their transfer within the mission, I got mine outside the mission and country. (Stupid Sendero Luminoso!) I then embarked on my world tour by serving in the Chile Antofagasta Mission and then after taking ill, serving in the California Ventura Mission. Peru Lima East, however, will always be first in my heart.
After my mission, I decided I loved languages so much I joined the Navy and became a Linguist. I became a Farsi (Iranian) Linguist and served in the Middle East for five years, effectively curing me of my love for languages.
I left the Navy, but kept the hairstyle, and went into network engineering, and now sales.
I married my wife, Emilie, in the Washington DC temple in 1996 and we lived in Virginia until Jan. 2005. I'm still not sure how it happened, but ended up in Utah. Go figure. We live in Lehi with our daughter Madeline, 7, and sons Jack, 5, and Joe, who is 19 months.
I served with Luis Herrera and Todd Christensen in Rimac I. |
