After my mission, I returned to Utah State University, where I received a BS in Biology. I went to medical school at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. I stayed at Duke for a residency in internal medicine. I went to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota for a fellowship in gastroenterology. In 1993 I joined the faculty of the University of Kentucky college of medicine. We stayed at UK for nine years. Then, it seemed to be time for a change, so we moved to Salem, Oregon and joined a private practice group.
In 1984 I married Jenny in the Logan temple. My best decision; probably her worst. We have two daughters; Gwen, born 1991, and Vivian, born 1997.
I have been the ward financial clerk, the blazer scout leader, the Elders quorum secretary, the scoutmaster, counselor in the stake Young Men's presidency, teacher development instructor, scoutmaster again, bishop, and now teachers quorum instructor / assistant varsity scout coach.
