Ia Ora Na Outou,
My name is Mareko and I served from 1979-81. Elder Sabin and I were in the MTC for four (4) months and later served in the office together for seven (7) months toward the end of our missions as Assistants to Presidents Mack and Larsen. We were fortunate to be there when President Kimball came to break ground for the Temple.
After an extension to our missions Elder Sabin and I returned home with Elder Lutz (Paris, France) in Nov. of 1981. Within a month I met Tammara R. Harris/Peterson. We were married for time & all eternity in the D.C. temple in Dec. 1982. While children Tammara and I moved regularly with our military families. However, since our marriage we've setteled in Indianapolis and lived here ever since.
We have four children: Steven Teiva, Nathan Mareko, Michelle HeiTiare, and Jonathan TamaHere. We also have our first grand-daughter: McKenzie Elizabeth TiTaina. Unfortunately I am currently disabled due to an automobile accident in 2001. In that accident I ruptured 3 discs in my neck, 3 in my lower back and suffered head trama, seizures and fainting. I also have difficulty with High Blood Pressure and Heart problems.
Even as bad as things are they have been worse. In 1987 after an automobile accident I developed a staff infection in my spinal fluid. They gave me 6 months to live at that time. Well, it has been much longer than that now and I'm still here. At that time I was paralized and after many weeks in therapy I did start walking again. We've been back before so we trust we will be again.
A Faaitoito Noa, Spethma
