Here is a brief background from the end of the mission. I got married to my wife Rebecca in 2002 and then later that year completed my BS in Accounting from the University of Utah. I also got an MBA from the U of U. In 2005 we moved to Las Vegas where I began my career in public accounting. One month after moving to Vegas, we had our first son, Karsten. In 2007 our second son, Justin, was born. In the summer of 2008 we moved to Phoenix where we currently live. In March of 2009 I was laid off from my job in public accounting, I was a casualty of the downturn in the economy. I just got a job working for Troon Golf as a Regional Controller, working with a golf management company is a dream.
The time off has been a great chance to spend some time around my wife and boys. I have also gained a greater appreciation for what my wife does on a daily basis with the challenges of raising two amazing boys. I have also gained an understanding of the transition she had of going from working full-time to raising children full-time. She does an amazing job.
I am excited to have found this site and would love to hear from those that I served around and with. |
