To all who served under Pres. Berta & Hermana Berta,
I received an email today from Pres. Berta! It was so great to hear from him! They always remember their missionaries and wanted me to send their love and good wishes to all the missionaries who served under them.
I also wanted to add that Hna. Berta recently battled cancer, and thankfully is doing better. If you wish to drop them a line, I know they would be so happy to hear from you!

The Berta's children are grown and they now have 5 grandchildren and expecting #6 soon!

I wanted to include a note for all those who will serve with Pres. and Sister Argyle, who will be arriving in the mission soon:
I attended High School with Sister Argyle, and attended the same ward at the University of Utah where President and Sister Argyle met. I know that Sister Argyle comes from a warm and loving family. Both President and Sister Argyle are wonderful and caring people.
Having just received the Ensign announcing their call, I became very excited for the Argyles, the missionaries who will serve with them, and the people of Buenos Aires whom I also served as a missionary 20 years ago in the same mission.

After more than 30 years, I'm finally returning to Argentina. My wife, Claire, and I are going to pick up our son who is completing his mission in Mendoza. We will spend 3 days in Mendoza, two days in Iguazu and 3 days in Buenos Aires. We head out the end of this month (June)!

Saludos a lodos los "ches" de la gran misión Buenos Aires Norte.
Muchos misioneros tuvieron el placer de server en San Miguel donde un hermano, sumamente talentoso con la guitarra y voz, Pablo Lucena, cantaba por cientos de misionereos y miembros su música folklórica de la Argentina. En 1982-83, Presidente Wendell Hall le pidió a Pablo que escribiera unas canciones y él preparó suficientes canciones que grabaron un cassette que se usaba en la obra misional. Seguramente algunos de uds. tienen uno de estos cassettes en su posesión.
Ahora, después de más de 20 años, Pablo sigue cantando y compositando sus hermosas canciones. Tuve la oportunidad de visitarle en noviembre, 2006. El ha grabado unas 11 temas nuevas. Sí, es musica secular, pero todavia toca el corazón como me hizo a mi en 1982. Por los milagros que existen hoy en día, Pablo me ha mandado 11 temas electrónicamente que hemos grabado en CD digital. Si desean recibir esta música, pónganse en contacto conmigo por email y llenaremos su orden.
Todo eso fue la idea del ex-presidente de la misión, Wendell Hall, que desea compartir esta hermosa música con todo el mundo. Sólo pedimos que donen lo que pueden para reembolsar a Pablo por sus costos, su obra, su tiempo, y su pasión por la música.
Yo viajo a Buenos Aires de nuevo el 19 de abril y otra vez en agosto, 2007 y voy a visitor a Pablo. Y le voy a entregar las ganancias de la venta de su CD. Si desean que le mande un mensaje, mándenme un email al: evanbladh@yahoo.com.

Sister Bentley and I think about all our former missionaries often and love
to hear from you. We still live in the East Mill Creek area of Salt Lake
county, in the same home we have had since 1973. I still practice law with
Kirton and McConkie, but I expect to retire before 2007. We are both
serving as ordinance workers in the Salt Lake Temple and we plan to serve
at least one more mission. We'd love to get an update on your lives,
especially if we haven't heard from you for a while. It doesn't have to be
a long message. Just enough to establish contact and let us know how you
are doing. You are like our sons and daughters. We still remember you and
are interested in what is happening in your lives. We love you.
