In the image: Elder Baum, Elder Bell, Elder Gruwell, and Elder Podlesny (Felt) were the first four elders in Venezuela, arriving in late November of 1966. Elders Gruwell and Baum were companions, as were Elder Bell and Elder Podlesny (Felt). We lived at two homes of American Embassy staff near the Los Palos Grandes area. The Branch met at Brother Wilcox's home in El Marques. The first baptism was Brother Hernan Sepulveda.
We divided up the city between the four elders...
I have a 600+ page journal, more than half of which documents the opening of Venezuela.
