Matthew R Godfrey, age 45, and his wife: Monica Allen Godfrey accepted the call to serve as president of the Perú Lima North Mission, succeeding President John R. Erickson and Sister Annette Erickson. They have five children. They are from the Mount Ogden Ward, Ogden Utah East Stake.
Brother Godfrey served as a Sunday School teacher at the time he received his calling as mission president. Formerly, he had served as a bishop, high councilor, high priests group leader, ward mission leader, elders quorum president and missionary in the Venezuela Caracas Mission. Professionally, he is the owner of Better City. He was born in Ogden, Utah, to William Verl Godfrey and Carol Jeanne Jennings Godfrey.
Sister Godfrey served formerly as a ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women president, ward Primary president and gospel doctrine teacher. She was born in Durham, North Carolina, to David Edgar Allen and Patricia More Allen.
