November 4, 1998

We still do not have the phone lines in the office, but what I found out yesterday is that I could wheel the computer into the kitchen and use the phone line in there to send and receive our messages.

We are doing well. We have seven elders that will enter the CCM [Missionary Training Center] this Friday. Then in December, we will have two sisters and four elders. One of the elders is from Honduras. He will be the first one that we have had that will not be a Dominican. So far in January there are only three missionaries on the list. I hope they will add a few more to the list in the next few weeks.

I received a message from Guillermo Antivilo, and he is being transferred to Lima Peru in January. He will be there for three years. He has been released as a counselor to President Nicolaysen. I have also heard from Hermano Madariaga who is in Buenos Aires and is working hard in the church there. His son Sebastian is in The San Bernardino Mission and is now a zone leader. I also got a telephone call from Brother Luis Morales, and he is coming to the Dominican Republic for a seminar with Nature Sunshine. He will try and come see us when he gets here.

A sister Raquel Alicia from Aruba came by the other day to visit. She just got home from her mission on Temple Square. Her visa expired while she was gone and the officials in Aruba would not let her stay there, so she is here with her parents in Los Alcarrizos. I am trying to help her find a job here in the capital.

Dane, Dean, and Danika are still in school at Dixie. Dean is vice president of the school and Dane is on the student council so they have been real busy with school, church, and work activities. They are all still single but looking. Dallas will graduate from SUU [Southern Utah University] this year and will be looking for a job to teach Spanish in one of the school in the area.

Sister Larsen and I are always anxious to hear the news from all the former Venezuelan missionaries. I hope all are doing well and enjoying the blessings that they deserve.

Bueno me despido con un fuerte abrazo. Saludos a todos.

Presidente y Hermana Larsen
